02Information we collect and process

Birthday Mitra processes the following information to provide its features. Some information is stored through our service providers, while other information stays on your device.

  • Google sign-in information: Your name, email address, Google profile image, and user ID for login and account identification.
  • Birthday records: The person’s name, birth date, gender, relation type, optional city or village, optional mobile number, and reminder preferences.
  • Optional birthday photos: An image you select when adding or editing a birthday. The app stores a private copy locally on your device, as explained in Section 15. This is separate from your Google account profile image.
  • Notification information: Notification permission status and a Firebase Cloud Messaging token for push notifications.
  • App settings: Selected language, dark mode preference, local reminder settings, and local rewarded-ad preferences.
  • Sharing information: Birthday share profiles, share links or tokens, and information you choose to include in a shared profile.
  • Advertising information: Google AdMob’s SDK may collect and share IP addresses, device or account identifiers, ad and app interactions, and diagnostic or performance information. An IP address may be used to estimate general location. Processing depends on the SDK configuration and applicable consent choices.

03How we use information

  • To enable Google sign-in and identify your account.
  • To save, display, and manage birthday records and reminders.
  • To provide local notifications and push notification support.
  • To support Gujarati, Hindi, and English, and remember your app preferences.
  • To display an optional birthday photo in circular profile views and help you prepare birthday wishes.
  • To prepare WhatsApp messages, share birthday links, and import birthdays from links you paste.
  • To display banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads through Google AdMob, and provide the daily ad-hiding reward.
  • To operate and maintain the app and support its usability.

04Birthday information you add

You may add birthday details of friends, family members, or other people. Birthday records are associated with your signed-in account and used for your dashboard, upcoming birthday lists, reminders, and wish-sharing features.

If you choose to publish or share birthday information, the details you share may become accessible to others. Public birthday share profiles are explained in Section 14.

Only add or share personal information and photos that you are permitted to use. Consider the other person’s privacy before sharing their birth date, photo, or mobile number.

05Notifications

Birthday Mitra uses local notifications and Firebase Cloud Messaging to support birthday reminders and push notifications. Notification permission is requested where required by Android.

You can manage notification permission in your device settings. If notifications are disabled, reminders may not appear. Adding a photo does not automatically send that photo or a birthday wish to anyone.

06Third-party services

The app uses the following services:

  • Firebase Authentication: Google sign-in and account authentication.
  • Cloud Firestore: Storage of account-associated birthday records and published birthday share profiles.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: Push notification support.
  • Google AdMob: Banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertising.
  • Google Play Services: Android functionality and Google account sign-in.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. See the Google Privacy Policy, Firebase privacy information, and Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure.

When you share through WhatsApp or another app, that app also processes the content you send according to its own privacy practices.

07Advertising

Birthday Mitra displays banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads using Google AdMob. Google’s advertising SDK may process the advertising information described in Section 2 for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.

Advertising behavior may depend on your region, consent choices, device settings, and the app’s advertising configuration. You can manage available advertising privacy controls in your Android or Google settings.

You may watch rewarded ads to temporarily hide ads for the same day. The reward status is stored locally on your device.

08Data storage and security

  • Cloud storage: Account information, birthday records, share profiles, mobile numbers, and related settings may be stored or processed through Firebase services.
  • Device storage: App preferences, local reminder data, reward status, and optional birthday photo copies are stored locally as needed for the app’s features.
  • Birthday photo storage: The app keeps its photo copies in private, account-associated device storage that is excluded from Android’s standard app backup. It does not upload these copies to Firebase, our servers, or birthday share profiles.

Cloud records are retained as needed to provide the service and handle deletion requests, subject to applicable legal obligations. Local data remains until removed by the app, you, or the device’s data-management controls.

We take reasonable steps to protect information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. No online service or electronic storage method can guarantee complete security.

09Data sharing

We do not sell users’ personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed for the app, including Firebase and Google AdMob, as described above.

You may also choose to share birthday details, links, wish text, and optional photos with other people or apps. Anyone who receives that content may save or forward it. Removing information from Birthday Mitra does not remove copies already received or saved by others.

10Children’s privacy

Birthday Mitra is a birthday reminder app. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without the consent required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

If you add a child’s birthday details or photo, make sure you have the necessary permission and take particular care before sharing that information.

11Your controls and data deletion

  • Birthday records: You may edit or delete records from within the app.
  • Local photos: You may replace a photo or remove it when editing a birthday and then save your changes. Deleting the birthday in the app also removes its associated local photo copy on that device.
  • Device data: Clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app removes its local photo copies. This does not delete the original gallery images or automatically delete your Firebase account data.
  • Account and cloud data: Request deletion by emailing vijyacrafto@gmail.com from the email address used to sign in, so we can verify your request.
  • Published share profiles: Deleting a private birthday record may not remove a separately published share profile. Include any shared birthday link or profile in your deletion request if you want that information removed.

Because birthday photo copies are stored on your device, manage or remove them on that device. Account deletion requests cannot retract content that other people or apps have already received or saved.

12App permissions and photo access

  • Internet: Used for sign-in, Firebase services, and advertising.
  • Notifications: Requested on supported Android versions to display birthday reminders.
  • Advertising ID: May be used by Google AdMob for advertising, subject to platform availability and settings.
  • Selected image access: When you choose to add or change a birthday photo, Android’s system file or photo selection screen lets you select an image. The photo feature reads the image you select; it does not require access to your entire photo library or a camera permission.

Selecting a birthday photo is optional. You can use the birthday reminder features without adding one.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app or its data practices change. Updates will appear on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Please review this page periodically.

Optional photo feature

15Birthday photos and wish sharing

  • Your choice: When adding or editing a birthday, you can select a photo from your device. You can also change or remove it. The feature is optional.
  • Stored on your device: The app creates its own private local copy, associated with your signed-in account and that birthday. The selected birthday photo is not uploaded to Firebase or our servers.
  • Local processing: The selected image may be resized, rotated, and converted to JPEG for display and sharing. The stored copy is re-encoded without the original image’s EXIF metadata, such as embedded GPS metadata. Visible information in the image remains visible.
  • Circular display: If a photo is saved, it appears in the app’s circular birthday profile views. Without a photo, the app uses its usual default display.
  • Original image: The app does not change or delete your original gallery image. Removing the original from your gallery does not automatically remove the separate copy already saved in the app.
  • Save or cancel: Photo changes are applied when you save the birthday. Canceling the edit keeps the previously saved photo unchanged.
  • Sharing a wish: The option to include the photo is unchecked by default when you open the wish-sharing screen. If you tick it, the app prepares the selected wish text with the birthday photo for sharing through Android’s share screen. You then choose the receiving app and recipient. The app does not automatically send a wish or photo on the birthday.
  • Text-only sharing: If the photo option is not selected, the wish is shared without the locally saved birthday photo.
  • Receiving apps: When you share a photo, the app you select receives access to the shared image. The receiving service and recipient may store or forward it under their own practices. Birthday Mitra cannot retract those copies.
  • No photo sync or cloud restore: Local birthday photos are excluded from the app’s standard Android backup and are not synced to another device. Signing in on another device will not restore these photo copies. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes them, so you would need to select them again.

Birthday link sharing and photo wish sharing are separate: A public birthday link does not contain your locally saved birthday photo. The photo is attached to a wish only when you choose the photo-sharing option.
